This weekend, our longtime friend Martha Zoller officially kicked off her campaign for congress in her own hometown of Gainesville, GA. We welcome her decision to run for office, something people have been asking her to do for years and, because we know she supports the troops, we pledge our support to her candidacy.

At MAF we look for candidates who support the troops, that’s our most important issue, and we know that Martha is a huge supporter of our military and their missions to keep America safe and free. She’s so committed that she’s traveled to Iraq TWICE to help the troops and Gold Star families that she cares for so much!

MARTHA ZOLLER ANNOUNCES RUN FOR CONGRESS! HELP ELECT A LONGTIME ALLY OF MAF AND MAFPAC

It’s not every day you get to help one of your best friends get elected to US Congress, but we now all share that goal as our friend Martha Zoller has announced she’s running to represent Georgia’s 9th congressional district.

It was through her career as a radio talk show host that we got to know and respect Martha Zoller. Back in 2005 when Move America Forward organized our first trip to Iraq, we were looking for the best radio show hosts in the country who were dedicated enough to put themselves in a war zone in order to get the story.

Melanie Morgan, MAF’s chairman along with Martha Zoller and a handpicked team of radio professionals from across the country, traveled to Baghdad, Iraq where they spent over a week interviewing troops at Camp Liberty to get the story straight from the source.

The Voices of Soldiers project earned awards from Associated Press for best special program and Martha Zoller shared in that.

She was so moved by her experiences in Iraq that year that the next year she went back again, this time to bring a grieving family to the place where their son gave his life for his country.

Martha has always been a stalwart supporter of our troops – that’s what we liked about her in the first place, and that’s why we brought her to Iraq in 2005. She’s always stood up for our military men and women, even when it was not the popular thing to do. Back in 2005 and 2006 when it seemed everyone was trashing the war, Martha stood by groups like Move America Forward in defending our troops and their missions overseas.

OUTRAGE: HAHN CAMPAIGN USED WW2 HERO’S NAME AND PICTURES WITHOUT PERMISSION!

 

The Janice Hahn campaign has sunk to new lows! In a desperate last minute mail drop that hit residents over the weekend attempting to mislead voters and give them the impression that Hahn received an endorsement from a well known local WW2 veteran.

The claim was a complete lie, the veteran in question never endorsed Hahn and the use of his pictures was unauthorized. Representatives issued the following statement making it clear that Hahn did NOT have his support! 

“The Hahn campaign has been told repeatedly, both verbally and via email, that Louis Zamperini does not wish to endorse Janice Hahn’s campaign for Congress, and does not approve the use of Mr. Zamperini’s name or likeness,” said John Naber, Assistant to Mr. Zamperini. “The Hahn campaign did not have permission from Mr. Zamperini for the recent mailing using photos from his book and website.”

Unfortunately Hahn’s deceptive tactics are typical liberal strategy. With only one full day left before the election, there’s no time to send out a correction, and voters will undoubtedly be misled by this dirty campaign trick!

ALERT! Friends, there is a critical special election quietly taking place in southern California’s coastal district, but the outcome of this little-known race has the potential to be devastating for our men and women serving bravely in America’s armed forces.

Part of Hahn’s damaged record is her involvement in one of the most shameful wastes of taxpayer money we’ve ever seen.

… a 2008 Fox 11 (Los Angeles) story in which investigative reporter Chris Blatchford reported that anti-gang money was going to the gangsters themselves. In the Fox story, Watts gangster Steven Myrick is seen in a 2006 police video claiming that he “worked for” Janice Hahn and “that’s why I’m out (of jail) right now. Miss Hahn got me out like three weeks ago.” Myrick was released after an arrest for indecent exposure. He was later tied to a 2000 rape and robbery of a woman at gunpoint and was sentenced to life in prison. The Fox report includes several other examples of men hired as gang-intervention specialists, paid through programs sponsored by the city, who were still actively involved in gang activity. The outrageous corruption and waste in this fiasco has haunted Janice Hahn. Taxpayer funds were given to gang-members for supposed community services, but instead were pocketed to buy more drugs and illegal guns, in a program she supported and then denied any wrongdoing.

In 2000, terrorists carried out a suicide-bombing of the USS Cole while at port in Yemen, killing 17 American sailors and injuring 34 others.

After retiring, Kirk Lippold, as Commander of the Cole at the time of the attack, began speaking out in support of our troops and the war on terror, knowing firsthand the dangers posed by the radical Islamists.

Ret. Commander Kirk Lippold is now running for a U.S. Congressional seat in Nevada and possesses many of the qualifications we look for in a candidate. Though not all pro-troop advocates must serve in the military, Commander Lippold brings an impressive resume, including time as the Commanding Officer of the USS Cole.

Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel is running for one of Ohio’s U.S. Senate seats. Mandel has served as a U.S Marine Corps Intelligence Officer completing two tours in Anbar Province, Iraq.

He has held a number of elected offices, but has shown to never lose his strong sense of duty to country. We are excited to see how Mandel’s campaign matures as we continue to look for deserving candidates.

Dick Durbin is one of our worst foes in congress. He is famous for being an absolute crack-pot lefty, who has opposed our worthy missions in the war on terror at every step of the way. He has long been one of the loudest voices for cut-and-run, surrender, and he’s famous for proposing that a new DEPARTMENT OF PEACE replace the Dept. of Defense. He is one of CODE PINK’s favorite legislators.

Now he’s launched an attack on Rep. Pete King, in response to King’s bold hearings held earlier this month to root out and identify the causes and sources of the radicalization of American youths in the Muslim community here back home.

Dick Durbin has a long history of attacking anything that helps strengthen America. His suggestion that we should dissolve the Department of Defense and replace it with the Department of Peace amounts to an attack on EVERYONE who works for the DoD, which includes each and every one of our troops. Basically, Durbin wants to FIRE every soldier, marine, sailor, airman, and coast guardsman, and replace them with the Peace Corps! How effective would they be in defending our country?

ALLEN WEST CONTINUES TO IMPRESS!

BUT WILL HIS TRUTH TELLING PAINT A TARGET ON HIS BACK?

It seems that Colonel (now Congressman) is on a winning streak! Earlier this month he made a splash for himself as one of the most impressive speakers at the first ever Tea Party Town Hall meeting, then he gave the closing speech at CPAC, which was a complete hit. After whipping the crowd at CPAC up to rapturous applause, West held a Town Hall in his home district this week where he parried and skewered his opponents to the tune of thunderous cheering from the audience.

His opponent? An operative for the group CIAR (Council on American Islamic Relations), which as we know, has well-documented terrorist connections. The CAIR operative confronted West at a town hall meeting hoping to put him in the spotlight, fluster him or make him say something foolish on camera, but much to the delight of those assembled, West turned it around on CAIR.

The guy holds up a Koran and challenges West, “Can you show me one verse, in this Koran, where it says to attack America, to attack Americans?”

West was not intimidated. He began quickly firing off historical battle after battle, from the first Muslim caravan raids “The Nahkla Raids” to “The Battle of the Trenches”, “The Battle of Tours”, West actually named about ten incidents throughout history, stretching back from 628 AD to September 11, 2001. Obviously  impressed with West’s knowledge of history and Islam’s militarism, the crowd was roaring and clapping so loud you can hardly hear West ripping into the CAIR operative! 



“I’ve been on the battlefield my friend, don’t try to blow sunshine up my butt!” said a slightly annoyed West. “I went to Muslim countries to defend the freedom of Muslim people! Don’t come up here and try to criticize me! Put the microphone down and go home!” West declared, as the crowd went wild again!

West became a US Congressman from Florida only a few months ago, after winning the election to represent Florida’s 22nd and as a conservative in an unlikely district, he’s been targeted by Dems very early on.

Here’s the text of the radio ad: “Did you know Congressman Allen West has a plan to cut education and research by 40 percent that will cost hundreds-of-thousands of jobs and make America less competitive? Tell West to choose jobs.”

The 40 percent figure is based on a nonpartisan Center on Budget and Policy Priorities analysis of where spending would be in 2021 under the GOP plan compared to current levels adjusted for inflation over the next decade. For the jobs claim, the DCCC cites a recent radio interview by liberal Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y.
