Rand Paul asks “Where Were the Marines?”

RAND PAUL – “WHERE WERE THE MARINES?”

Rand Paul has a message for President Obama…come clean and take responsibility for the Libya debacle caused by the administration’s incompetence in securing our diplomats abroad, and subsequent cover-up by the administration.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY)

October 24, 2012

The first and most pressing question for Mr. Obama remains: Where the hell were the Marines?

Two of the most potentially vulnerable or dangerous American embassies are in Iraq and Libya. In Iraq, we have roughly 17,000 people guarding our ambassador. Not all of them are Marines, but some several hundred are, and they guard our ambassador behind a 10-foot-high walled fortress. In Iraq, we cannot afford to take any unnecessary risks with our diplomats and go to great lengths to ensure that there are plenty of armed personnel between our representatives and any potential threats.

In Libya, there were no uniformed Marines guarding our ambassador. Originally, there was a 16-person security team led by Col. Andrew Wood, who had requested to stay in Libya. In July, Stevens sent memos to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee requesting an “extension of tour of duty (TDY) personnel.” Stevens was referring to Col. Wood’s 16-man team, which was scheduled to leave in August. Stevens requested on Aug. 2 – just six weeks before his murder – to keep security personnel in Libya “through mid-September,” calling the conditions there “unpredictable, volatile and violent.”

Col. Woods has also said that he repeatedly requested to remain in Libya because he felt both the environment and the ambassador were unsafe. Now, after the tragic fact, no one knows what happened to Stevens’ original request.

Why was the security team that both Stevens and Col. Woods requested sent home? Who made this decision?

…The president now says, “The buck stops here.” It’s time for him to prove it, and if he won’t, it is time for Congress to do its job and get to the bottom of it.

For two weeks the administration refused to acknowledge what everyone else could plainly see, because admitting that the terrorists were still out there, still plotting against America, was also admitting that all of Obama’s rhetoric about repairing our relationships in the Middle East is a big fat failure.

Have you had enough of Obama’s lies yet? Do we want another 4 years of this?

We need a leader willing to stand up to terrorists. Help us produce the TV ad to hit

Obama on Foreign Policy – America needs to see this!

Retired Generals and Admirals Support Romney

RETIRED GENERALS SUPPORTING ROMNEY

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney boosted his foreign policy credentials with the announcement of his Military Advisory Committee, which includes over 300 retired military generals and admirals who are supporting Romney for President.

The list includes two of the most important military commanders of the last decade, such as General Tommy Franks, who commanded our troops through the initial invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq as well as General James Conway, who helped oversee “the Surge” in Iraq and is one of the most popular Commandants the Marine Corps ever had.

“I’m proud to be supporting Mitt Romney in this critical election about our nation’s future,” said General Tommy Franks, USA (Ret.), Past Commander, U.S. Central Command. “Governor Romney is committed to restoring America’s leadership role in the world. Instead of playing politics with our military, he will strengthen our defense posture by reversing the President’s devastating defense cuts. The fact of the matter is that we cannot afford another four years of feckless foreign policy. We need level-headed leadership which will protect our interests and defend our values with clarity and without apology.”

“I consider the unprecedented national debt amongst the five greatest threats to the security of our great nation,” said General James Conway, USMC (Ret.), Past Commandant of the Marine Corps. “And yet, I see no indication the current administration, if re-elected, is intent on changing that trajectory.  Clearly Defense should bear a portion of the burden in order to regain control of our debt, but the idea of massive military cuts — at a time of increased global instability-should not even be in the cards. As I listen to Mitt Romney, I am convinced that he ‘gets it’.”

This is extremely important news in our efforts to show why we must defeat Obama and elect a new President who would be a better leader for our troops and better equipped to meet the challenges to security and will not apologize for America’s greatness.

In his 4 years as President, Obama has apologized or America, lowered our guard, and tried to ‘reset’ our relations in the Middle East by bowing to foreign leaders and refusing to identify terrorists and terrorist acts where they exist. The result has been that our enemies are bolder and more confident in attacking the United States, assured that President Obama will do little or nothing to stop them!

We cannot risk four more years of Obama and his weak leadership.

We must FIRE OBAMA! Make a donation today to help our FIRE OBAMA ad campaign!

POLL OF TROOPS SHOWS SUPPORT FOR ROMNEY

A poll conduced by Militarytimes.com shows that most of our troops support Romney over Obama by a ratio of 2 to 1.

OCTOBER 7, 2012

“The professional core of the U.S. military overwhelmingly favors Mitt Romney over President Obama in the upcoming election – but not because of any particular military issues, according to a new poll of more than 3,100 active and reserve troops.

Respondents rated the economy and the candidates’ character as their most important considerations…

…Poll results indicate that about 66 percent of those surveyed support Romney, compared with about 26 percent who say they will vote to re-elect President Obama.”

NEW LEADERSHIP NEEDED TO KEEP AMERICA SAFE

We have a lack of leadership in the white house but the American people do not realize how bad the situation is! We can fix this problem by producing a TV ad campaign in swing states to tell the people out there just how bad Obama is, and how much our security is diminished if he stays in office. Unfortunately, without your help, this ad will never see the light of day.

With the events of the last month in Egypt, Libya and continuing in Syria and Iran we could no longer sit idly by while our military and national security is eroded by our Commander-in-Chief.  We can’t sit on the sidelines while this administration apologizes to our enemies for our freedom of speech, refuses to stand with our ally Israel, and continues to “lead from behind.”

We’ve set a goal of $15,000 to produce the ad slamming Obama’s foreign policy. But we’ve only raised $6,512 – not enough to pay for it!

America has and always will lead from the front and should not apologize for our strength or influence in the world.  Obama sought to “reset” relations with the Muslim world, with Russia, with China, but this stance has emboldened those who wish to see our influence recede and worried those allies that count on the USA to be a beacon of light and hope in a dark world.

With the help of great patriots like yourself, we can produce a TV ad that will make clear the difference between an America led by President Obama and his apologists or an America led by a leader that knows peace comes through strength.

Please help us produce a TV ad to show Americans what four more years

of Obama will mean to our military and national security!

We need to raise $15,000 to produce this ad!  We’re still $8,488 from the goal!

Debbie Lee Endorses Josh for MAFPAC

BATTLEGROUND STATE: OHIO

DEBBIE SPEAKS IN SUPPORT OF MARINE CORPS VET

JOSH MANDEL, THE NEXT U.S. SENATOR FROM OHIO!

Last night Debbie Lee, representing MAFPAC addressed a rally of hundreds of supporters who gathered to see Debbie and Josh Mandel at Cedarville Christian University, near Dayton Ohio.

As she always does, Debbie brought tears to the eyes of the audience as she told the heroic story of her son Marc. Debbie was also the first person to wish Josh a happy 35th birthday!

Afterwards, Josh took the stage and gave a rousing and passionate plea for limited government, lower taxes and and end to business-crushing over-regulation that got a standing ovation from the crowd, a mix of college students and local supporters from the community.

CLICK HERE TO DONATE NOW IN SUPPORT OF THIS BRAVE MARINE!!!

Josh joined the Marines in 2000, before 9/11, but he stayed in after the attacks and deployed to Iraq twice. In 2004 and in 2007, Josh served in Anbar Province, one of the most dangerous places in Iraq. He served as a Marine Intelligence Officer, and regularly volunteered for more dangerous foot patrols.

We must remind you how important this race is! Winning in Ohio could be the key to winning back the Senate, which would give us control of both Houses of Congress.

It has also been mentioned by more than a few analysts, that in an extremely close election that will come down to just a few battleground states deciding whether Romney or Obama gets enough electoral college votes to clinch the Presidency, it is a VERY REAL possibility that the entire election for president could come down to Ohio.

That’s why it’s extremely important for groups like MAFPAC to remain vocal and strong in battleground states – especially crucial Ohio!

MAFPAC Supports Air Force Vets in Ohio

BATTLEGROUND STATE: OHIO RECAP

MAFPAC ENDORSES AIR FORCE VETERANS IN OHIO!

Our tour through the battleground state of Ohio is winding down and MAFPAC is returning back to base. Debbie Lee had a very successful trip, visiting every corner of the state to visit with the candidates, talk about how their races are going, and deliver our endorsement on behalf of all of our MAFPAC members and donors.

Friday the MAFPAC crew was in Toledo visiting and endorsing our good friend Joe Wurzelbacher, but you may know him as “Joe the Plumber”.

What you may not know about Joe the Plumber, is that he’s also an Air Force veteran.  He is a stalwart supporter of our troops and their missions in the war on terror.

After watching Joe stand up to Barack Obama on his distributing the wealth plans, is there any doubt that Joe will stand up for our troops and oppose those who think peace comes from appeasement? Joe understands that our troops need support, both on and off the battlefield. They need to not have their hands tied by restrictive rules of engagement.

Joe also agrees with us that
Obama’s continued projection of weakness to the world only invites more attacks and tragic incidents like the attacks in Egypt and Libya that killed our Ambassador and two former Navy SEALS.

The big unions are strong in this district, and they those Union bosses are pounding on their members to help big-spending Democrats like Marcy Kaptur.  But, we have one of those rare candidates that can really give them a battle in one of their districts. Joe is a very hard worker and he spends the hours hitting doors and talking to voters.

JOE THE PLUMBER NEEDS OUR HELP! PLEASE DONATE TO HELP THIS VETERAN & TEA-PARTY HERO GO TO CONGRESS

Saturday MAFPAC was at the edge of Ohio, right on the border of West Virginia and Kentucky, in the good old town of Ironton. Debbie delivered the MAFPAC endorsement to Congressman Bill Johnson and spoke to a room packed full of volunteers, a good number of them from the coal mining industry, who were assembled to volunteer.

Bill Johnson is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He entered service in 1973 and, after a 26 year career of service, retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. While in the Air Force, Johnson held a distinguished position as Director of the Air Force Chief Information Officer Staff at US SOCOM.

He also worked as a direct liaison to members of congress and Secretary of Defense Representatives and various high-level members in the often very secretive and exclusive US Intelligence Community.

After being first elected to Congress in 2010, Bill Johnson is facing one of the toughest and closet races in the state of Ohio. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has started pouring tons of money into this race, outspending Republicans by a disturbing margin.

The DCCC has already spent over $570,000 (that was earlier this week!) against only $370,000 in support of Bill Johnson (Washington post 9/27). Nancy Pelosi and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz are basically trying to buy this seat by out-spending Bill Johnson with DCCC money coming in from Hollywood, San Francisco, and New York City!

DON’T ALLOW NANCY PELOSI TO TAKE AWAY THIS AIR FORCE VETERAN’S SEAT! PLEASE SEND HELP TODAY!

MAFPAC Endorses Josh Mandel

starglogo_ico_bullet

MOVE AMERICA FORWARD FREEDOM PAC

ENDORSES JOSH MANDEL FOR SENATE

DAYTON, OH  – Ohio Senate candidate Josh Mandel received a powerful endorsement today, from the pro-troop political action committee Move America Forward Freedom PAC (MAFPAC). MAFPAC, which is a network of veterans, military families, and patriotic troop supporters, focuses on supporting candidates who will back the troops and their missions while serving in congress and who will pursue a strong anti-terrorism agenda, focusing on winning the war on terror.

MAFPAC sent spokesperson and Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee to deliver the endorsements.

MAFPAC is proud to endorse Mandel for his record of service to his country, including two tours in Iraq as a Marine Corps veteran.  He currently serves as the State Treasurer of Ohio and is a former state representative, re-elected in a district with a 2-1 ratio of democrats, showing Mandel’s ability to face challenges head on and get the job done.

Josh Mandel was inspired by a strong sense of duty to country, enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves in 2000, where he graduated first in his class from Marine Corps Boot Camp and first in his class from Marine Corps Intelligence School. He was an obvious leader from his early days.

His Marine Corps career spanned eight years, including two tours in Anbar Province, Iraq. During both tours he was awarded the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal for “superior performance of his duties.”

“I know what it means to sacrifice something for love of your country, my son Marc was a Navy SEAL and regularly put himself at risk. He made the ultimate sacrifice because he loved our nation so much. Josh Mandel shows the same leadership that our nation needs at this time. He will not back down from tough battles in the Senate, because he has faced and fought tougher challenges on the battlefield. In congress we need people who are committed to our troops and their missions in the war on terror. Josh has demonstrated that commitment on the battlefield and will continue to do so in the Senate and that’s why we are proud to support him,” concluded Debbie Lee.

Debbie’s son Marc Alan Lee was the first Navy SEAL to be killed in the war in Iraq. Marc was killed in Ramadi on August 2nd, 2006 after saving the life of a fellow SEAL and putting his own safety at risk in order to keep his squad safe. Since losing her son, Debbie has traveled the country speaking out in support of the troops and the mission her son fought for and believed in.

MAFPAC Event with Josh Mandel!

BATTLEGROUND STATE: OHIO

MAFPAC CAMPAIGNS WITH JOSH MANDEL TONIGHT!

MAFPAC is in Dayton tonight preparing to campaign with Josh Mandel tonight at Cedarville University. Any supporters in the area are encouraged to attend this free event tonight at 8pm!

We all know why winning this race is so very important, Josh Mandel is pivotal to our plans of taking back the senate. If we’re able to do that, conservatives would control both Houses of Congress! Josh Mandel is Harry Reid’s worst nightmare… and they’ve given over $250,000 to run negative ads against Josh here in Ohio!

Josh Mandel, the State Treasurer of Ohio and Republican nominee for Senate, is the perfect candidate to defeat the liberal Sherrod Brown and bring American values back to Washington.

A tough-as-nails Marine Corps veteran who served two tours in Iraq, Josh has never backed down from a challenge to help his country and his calling now has him running for US Senate.  Josh Mandel has packed a lot into his 34 years besides serving his country overseas.

He is credited with cutting property taxes as city councilman, winning “Watchdog of the Treasury” as a state legislator, and rooting out public corruption at his current job, State Treasurer.

IT’S UP TO US TO HELP TAKE BACK THE SENATE WITH LEADERS WHO EMBODY

PRINCIPLES OF THE MILITARY LIKE JOSH MANDEL! PLEASE DONATE NOW!

MEETING WITH STIVERS CAMPAIGN 9/26

We just wrapped up our endorsement event of Steve Stivers for Congress. Steve as you remember is one of MAFPAC’s longest-running candidates, since 2008, again in 2010 and now in 2012, Lt. Col. Steve Stivers has had MAFPAC support all the way.

Tonight’s endorsement was about re-affirming our longstanding support for Steve. There were so many issues to talk about including military voting, the stolen valor act, our relationship with Israel and the recent tragic attacks in Egypt and Libya. Lt. Col Stivers is just as concerned about these issues as we were.

MAF Freedom Back Touring Battleground State of Ohio!

BATTLEGROUND STATE: OHIO

MAFPAC HITS THE ROAD TO  SUPPORT

OUR TROOPS AND SPECIAL CANDIDATES!

At this very moment, MAF Freedom PAC staff are converging on the battleground state of Ohio. Not only is it important to win this critical state in order to FIRE OBAMA, there are also several candidates running for office in the State of Ohio who deserve your attention and support.

MAFPAC’s very own DEBBIE LEE, Gold Star Mom, will be touring the state, backed up by MAF BLOGGER DANNY who will be around to assist and record our journey to each district we’ve targeted.

Up first, MAFPAC will be arriving in Columbus to endorse Lt. Colonel Steve Stivers, running for re-election to Congress. You might remember Steve from 2010 (if you’ve been a MAF supporter that long) as we were one the earliest PACs to get behind his first run for Congress. He served in the Ohio National Guard for over 23 years, even while he was also a member of the Ohio state legislature. He authored various pro-military and pro-veterans bills before running for congress.

After two years in Washington, we couldn’t be more pleased with Steve’s performance. He’s stood by his principles and made some crucial votes.  Earlier this year, Congressman Stivers invited Debbie Lee to testify before a House Committee Hearing on Capitol Hill.

Today we will be excited to meet with Steve and his great staff in Columbus again, to re-affirm our strong support of this conservative member of congress, and a veteran who has worn the uniform proudly and served his country all his life.

Also today, MAF will be visiting Bethel, Ohio to endorse another great military candidate, Brad Wenstrup.

Brad joined the US Army Reserve in 1998, accepting and Officers commission. In 2005, Brad was deployed to Iraq as a Combat Surgeon with the 344th Combat Support Hospital. For his service in Iraq, Brad was awarded a Bronze Star and Combat Action badge. He continues to serve in the Reserves and holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Among Brad’s accomplishments during his deployment in Iraq was the amazing success of turning around Abu Ghraib prison. You might remember the name Abu Ghraib from the unfortunate new coverage that was all over the airwaves some years ago. Brad was stationed at the prison after the embarrassing photos were released and he helped turn around the situation there, improving discipline and practices and working tirelessly to repair the prison’s tarnished image. He was successful and in a short time Brad had the prison running like clockwork, treating injured soldiers and Iraqi citizens, as well as training Iraqis in advanced medical procedures they never thought possible!

He is a doctor, a soldier, and a caring individual. Brad has volunteered countless hours to civic service, as a 14 year organizer/volunteer in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. He currently sits on the board of Boys / Girls Hope, the Cincinnati Rotary Club, and he’s President of the Thank America First Foundation. Thank America First recently hosted a big event to thank US Military Veterans!

We are proud to be offering our endorsement to this amazing veteran, who not defended his country bravely, selflessly, saving innocent lives, and fostering greater cooperation with our allies in the middle east. Please help us send Lt. Colonel Brad Wenstrup to Congress!

PLEASE DONATE TODAY TO HELP SUPPORT CANDIDATES STEVE STIVERS AND BRAD WENSTRUP RUNNING FOR CONGRESS!

That’s all the time we have for this update! Keep checking your emails as we continue to provide the latest news on our travels.

Until then, please look over the following schedule and come out to one of these events to meet our staff and support these heroic candidates, all of whom have served our country bravely!

PRO-MILITARY PAC ENDORSES STEVE STIVERS FOR CONGRESS

ENDORSEMENT EVENT TODAY at REPUBLICAN HQ

Columbus, OH —Steve Stivers is picking up additional support for his campaign.  The latest group to throw its support behind Stivers for Congress is MAF Freedom PAC, the political arm of Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization.

Debbie Lee, Gold Star mother of Marc Lee, the first SEAL to be killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom, will join Stivers at an event Wednesday morning to formally give Lt. Colonel Stivers the official endorsement of the Pro-Troop PAC.

“Steve understands why it’s so critical not to abandon the American soldiers like those he served with who are fighting to prevent further acts of terror on American soil. He will never turn his back on these brave men and women — never.” said Debbie Lee. “As a mother of a Navy SEAL who gave his life for our country, I appreciate any candidate who has put his or her own life on the line the same why my son Marc did. It is so important to me that we try to elect as many veterans who support our troops and believe in their missions as possible. We are proud to support Steve Stivers for Congress.”

Lee also stressed why it’s so essential — now more than ever — to support leaders committed to protecting America. “When it comes to America’s national defense and homeland security many members of Congress fall far short. We need Steve Stivers and his type of commitment in the vital area of national security.” she said.
